Are you looking for versatility or specific features? These are some questions to consider before purchasing a lens.

The Nikon D90 is compatible with both DX and FX format lenses, but it is best to stick with DX lenses as they are specifically designed for cropped sensor cameras like the D90. FX lenses can work with the D90 but they will have a crop factor of 1.5x.
